A laser cutting file that looks right and a file that cuts right are different things. The cutter follows your path exactly, which means hairline segments waste time, closed internal gaps produce cut-outs that fall out of the sheet, and unfilled text turns into confetti. We prepare files specifically for the machine.
What we handle
- Closed-path artwork with no stray or open segments
- Kerf compensation so parts fit together as intended
- Minimum cut-line widths matched to your machine and material
- Tab and slot joints that actually hold
- Engrave and cut layers separated where your software needs them
Details that matter
Small internal radii are the most common reason a laser cut part falls apart. The inside corner of a cut shape is always slightly larger than the outside corner, and on a tight radius the difference becomes a visible gap. We set corner radii to your specified minimum. For anything that has to assemble, we size tabs and slots to the actual kerf of the material rather than to the nominal dimension.
Materials and machines
Acrylic, plywood, MDF, card, leather, fabric and thin plastics, on CO2 and fibre lasers. Tell us the machine, the material and its thickness, and we will prepare the file to suit. If your workflow needs DXF rather than vector artwork, we can supply it.
From an existing logo
Logos make good laser-cut items but rarely survive the process untouched. Closed counters, thin strokes and letter spacing all need attention. Send the file and we will show you what has to change and quote it.
